LILY

In this world, in hot pursuit
Is all I'll gain, an empty fruit?

Its skin looks good, nice, glossed
I pry and find, nothing inside.
Overcoming me, a feeling so lost
Hunger consuming, food denied.

Eyes open, nothing makes sense
So much to see, I remain blind
I close my eyes, watch everything condense
In the darkness, the truth I find.

I do not hear,
Touch, taste, smell or see.
But by faith all is clear.
You are my salvation's key.

Your light is bright.

You give me sight.

Deep in the night,
I feel You ignite.

Flames snow white,
Burn off my blight.
